DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist classroom teacher in working with young children.
  • Must be able to ride bus.
  • Must be able to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Possess a calm patient demeanor when working with children.
  • Must have high energy level.
  • Must be flexible and physically able to get on even level and on floor when working with children.
  • Must be able to communicate with young children.
  • Must be able to supervise classroom in absence of classroom teacher.
  • Able to multitask.
  • Have strong interpersonal skills.
  • Attend mandatory staff meetings and/or training as scheduled.
  • Knowledge of the community and the needs of the population being served.
  • Must be up to date on all required immunizations.
  • Have good oral and written communication skills.
  • Possess a high level of planning and organizational skills.
  • Able to work with behaviorally challenged and/or children with special needs.
  • Able to work alter school hours on occasion.
  • Able to attend local and out of town workshops.
  • Obtain CPR/First Aid Certification.
  • Able to be relocated to another classroom and/or site.
  • Other related job duties as assign by Director.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate Degree in Early Childhood preferred, CDA Credential or High School Diploma will be accepted, and 1 year experience with working with 3 and 4 year old children.
  • Must pass a physical examination with fit for duty {prior to start of work)
  • Must have valid Driver’s License.
