Nature of work:

Assist the Head Cook to prepare meals.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • All cooks will treat clients with dignity and respect at all times.
  • All cooks will get permission from Head Cook or Director before purchasing all food items that are needed.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs. as needed.
  • All cooks will be responsible for cooking in quantities according to schedule and number of persons to be served for (Breakfast at 7:30 am, Lunch at 12 Noon, and Dinner at 5 pm).
  • All cooks will be completely responsible for serving meals, baking and other necessary requirements.
  • Prepare and save a proper meal(s) for client that may not be present at the required meal time.
  • Responsible for menu planning in accordance to client’s dietary needs and order essential supplies to fulfill proper procedures.
  • Will be held responsible for sweeping, mopping, cleaning, and deodorizing of kitchen, refrigerator, stove, cupboard, coolers, windows, storage room, as well as checking temperatures of each cooler and to make sure they are at the right temperature daily.

 Qualifications required:

  •  Must have knowledge of preparing and serving adequate meals for all participants of the 5th Generation Healing Center.
  • Must have knowledge of the Confidentiality and HIPPA laws.
  • Must be able to follow directive from Program Director or Head Coo.
  • Must be willing to follow the Tribal Chain of Commands at all times.
  • Must be able to pass a State and Local background check.
  • Must have Safe serve requirements.
  • Must have one (2) year of sobriety.
  • Must be will to be subjected to random drug testing.
  • Must have 2 years of specialized experience in related field/area.
