As part of an effort to provide economic relief to the TMBCI membership, the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Tribal Government is providing a $500.00 economic impact payment to all Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Tribal enrolled members.

Phase 1 

Applications for PHASE 1 will be accepted beginning

December 21, 2022

PHASE 1 Includes all eligible TMBCI enrolled members who are enrolled as of December 16, 2022, 18 years of age or older, and reside within the state of North Dakota, or active military personnel regardless of where you are stationed.

Phase 2 

Applications for PHASE 2 will be accepted beginning

January 17, 2023

PHASE 2 Includes all eligible TMBCI enrolled members who are 18 years of age or older.  PHASE 2 applications will begin on January 17, 2023

Enrolled Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa (TMBC) members 18 years of age and older are eligible to receive a onetime $500 economic impact payment from the TMBC. To receive a payment, all eligible members must complete the application information below and must include a valid state or tribal enrollment photo ID.

  • Please do not call to check on your application unless 30 days has passed and you have not received your payment.
  • Please do not submit more than one application, this slows down the processing time.
  • Please do not submit your application until you have all the required documentation attached to the application, this eliminates multiple emails, or the chance for multiple applications.

  • All TMBCI tribal enrolled members
  • Must have been enrolled with the TMBC as of December 16, 2022
  • Eighteen (18) years of age at the time of application.

 All applications and tribal enrollment records will be verified prior to distribution of the eligible benefit. Once approved, a check will be mailed to the address of record listed in the demographic section below, no checks can be picked upAll fields are required unless otherwise notated.

How long will it take for me to receive my check?

The whole process after the application is received could take up to 30 days.

What happens if I don’t have my Indian ID (current) and just write down my enrollment number?

If you don’t have your tribal identification, you can input your enrollment number, along with a valid state ID.  (This process could take longer for enrollment verification purposes vs. having proof of enrollment with application.)

Who has access to my information and what are you doing to protect it via email and paper applications?

Under strict confidentiality policy and procedures, TMBCI and ARPA have access to your personal information.  Once the EIP payment program is over, all sensitive information will be sealed and stored in a secure area.

Can I pick up my check when it's ready?

No, all EIP checks will be mailed to the mailing address provided on the applications.

What is the verification process?

All applications will be received at the RPA administration building, either through hand delivery, email or regular mail.  Once the application is received ot will be reviewed to make sure its filled out correctly, verified for identity and proof of enrollment.

How and where do I get an application and how do I submit?

Applications can be downloaded from the HERE website and be emailed toEIP@tmbci.org.  

Applications can also be picked up at the ARPA administration building in Belcourt. (log building next to Belcourt Head Start.)

If I need assistance filling out my application, what can I do?

You can call 701-477-6801  if it’s assistance we can do over the phone or come to the ARPA administration building for whatever other assistants you may need.

What is the procedure on emails?

If you want to email your application, you can send it to EIP@tmbci.org.  We have verifiers standing by to receive all emails and printed out processing and verifying.
