Low Income Water Assistance Program (LIHWAP)

Tribal LIHEAP will be accepting applications for one-time assistance for Tribal members who have experienced shut-off of water services or are in arrears with their water bill.

Income guidelines to qualify for assistance are the same as those for the LIHEAP program. If you do not currently receive LIHEAP, you must submit household income verification with your application.

Payments will be made to water company only. Tribal LIHWAP does not pay ahead on water bills.

For more information and an application please contact Tribal LIHEAP at 477-3267. A copy of your water bill, notice of shut-off or proof of shut-off must be submitted with your application. Program funded by HHS-ACF American Rescue Plan.

The following is a list of Owners of an Individual Indian Monies (IIM) account at the Bureau of Trust Funds Administration (BTFA) and we are looking for you.  The IIM account has land, cash or both on deposit at BTFA.

Please call the TRUST BENEFICIARY CALL CENTER (TBCC) at 1-888-678-6836 or our local number 701-477-3828 if your name appears on the list or if you know the whereabouts of anyone on the list.  Please call if you know someone on the list is deceased so we can update the account.

TYP Summer Internships

Now Accepting Applications

The TM Tribal Youth Program is now accepting applications for the Summer Internship Program.

The Tribal Youth Initiative proposes to engage and employ youth interns and young adults between the ages of 14-25. Our Youth Interns will spend 8 weeks working with tribal staff to complete shoreline restoration of Wheaton Lake, Gordon Lake, and Belcourt Lakes. Other activities will include wildlife habitat and cultural revitalization projects.

The Tribal Youth Initiative Program of the Turtle Mountain Tribe is funded by the Bureau of Indian Affairs and Turtle Mountain Tribe.

Applications will be available May 10th, 2022 – May 24th, 2022 and can be picked up in the Tribal Youth Headquarters located next to the Tribal Complex building, 3 miles west of Belcourt; or they can be downloaded by clicking the button above. You can drop off the completed app at the Tribal Youth Headquarters, or email to TMTYP2012@outlook.com.
