 Duties and Responsibilities:

  •  Under the supervision of the TMCWFS Director, performs a variety of lead duties to assure child safety, as well as efficient, effective, and compliant CPS and Case Management operations.
  • Child Protection Worker will investigate and evaluate reports of child abuse/neglect and take protections or corrective action in incidents where abuse and or neglect is substantiated. CPI will work closely with the tribal court and law enforcement in child protection cases.
  • Child Protection Investigator will assist in the development of positive plans to provide serves for children.
  • Child Protection Investigator will provide assistance to families and children who reside within the boundaries of the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Indian Reservation and its outlying land, work with other agency branches and public welfare agencies in helping take advantage of local, state, and federal social service programs. To enable Native American to receive services on the same basis as available to all citizens. Child Protections Investigator will assist in maintaining the case management system with documents the worl<s of protective service cases and individual case plans for the protection, care and supervision of the children in their own homes, foster homes, or institutional placements.
  • Communicates regularly with supervisor, staff, and others for the purposes of improving individual/department performance, teamwork, and efficiency within the department and across the agency.
  • Exhibits skill in planning, scheduling, and delegating work.
  • Must maintain professionalism on and off duty of regular business hours.
  • Will be on a revolving on-call status for Child Protection/Case Management Issues,
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

 Qualifications Required

  •  Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
  • Associate degree required.
  • 1 year of experience in a related field.
  • Must have a valid North Dakota Driver’s License and up to date insurance.
  • Must always maintain confidentiality
  • Must pass drug test (upon selection).
  • Must pass background check.
