SUMMARY:
Distribution on Indian Reservation (FDPIR) Commodity Program offers four food groups to eligible program clients. The products offered in the food package are stored and distributed at the TM Food Distribution building. The warehouse delivery technician employee will assist in the warehouse distribution area and is responsible for the preparation of orders scheduled for delivery. Warehouse delivery technicians will work closely with each employee to keep accurate inventory on a daily basis, which will be used for program tracking and reporting, all staff will provide excellent customer services both internally and externally and will support program clients and departmental staff with program services and programming as needed. Portraying professional business relation with all TMBCI staff, partner agencies, and program clients to support community partnerships and collaboration is required. Confidentially must be maintained at all times. Warehouse delivery warehouse technicians will keep Program Director and supervisor well informed of assigned activities and projects.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for assisting with issuance and distribution of program surplus food to clients for delivery.
- Assist with home deliveries to the elderly, handicap and to the home confinement, as determined by program Director and department manager/supervisor.
- Perform calls to program clients to verify food orders and to schedule time and date of delivery. Verify the client(s) order is correct before leaving the food distribution center
- Assist with the transport of orders to the client’s location in a timely manner.
- Follow proper food handling and safety procedures to maintain food quality and temperature.
- Interact with program clints in a polite and professional manner.
- Maintain client(s) order sheet and/or paperwork.
- Process and file order sheet and/or paperwork in an organized and timely manner.
- Route client order sheet and/or paperwork to appropriate issuing clerk to be recorded and maintained in client(s) file.
- Assist program management with GPS or other routing software to plan for planning the most efficient delivery routes.
- Handle customer complaints or issues in a professional manner and report them to program Director and assigned department manager/supervisor.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and safe transport vehicle by performing a daily vehicle checklist.
- Assist in keeping an accurate record of daily vehicle log to be submitted to program Director for program
- Assist with refuel transport vehicle, as needed, keeping accurate records of fuel tickets. Route fuel tickets to program Director in a timely manner for payment processing.
- Assist with maintaining an accurate log of transport vehicle mileage and fuel tickets.
- Report any vehicle mechanical or safety issues to program Director and assigned department manager/supervisor.
- Responsible to operate company vehicle(s), as needed.
- Must maintaining a clean driving record to perform job duties.
- Issuance and distribution of surplus food to clients at main warehouse location, as needed.
- Unload trucks of surplus foods, dry and frozen, and also the fresh produce truck, as needed.
- Stack and stock serving area and rotate surplus products in the warehouse, as needed.
- Clean work area and assist with cleaning warehouse when necessary.
- Unload trucks with bobcat, forklift, and remove snow, as needed.
- Be willing to use walk behind forklift when needed in building when moving supplies.
- Use computer to issue food supplies to clients and also to check status on clients, etc.
- Assist elderly and handicap with carry out as needed or upon request by supervisor or clients.
- Take inventory when needed and complete a report sheet.
- Assist with rotating work area and stock work area for issuance when co-worker is absent, etc., if needed. All other duties as assigned by supervisor or Program Director.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum GED or High School Degree
- Must have experience in the use of computers, including MS Word and Excel software.
- Must have a valid North Dakota Valid Driver’s License and proof of current insurance
- Able to lift 50 lbs. or above and pass a fit for duty physical. (upon selection)
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
