Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Medical Biller to join our Home and Community Based Services team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the billing process, ensuring accurate coding, and facilitating timely collections. This role is crucial in maintaining the financial health of our HCBS practice while providing excellent service to our clients.
This position submits for reimbursement to the applicable agency for services provided to a client/patient; completes required billing forms; and reviews for accurate billing and demographic information, ensuring that all applicable forms are submitted and adequately reflect the services rendered. This position will coordinate marketing and outreach activities to increase the enrollment of clients into Medicaid, Medicaid Expansion, Medicare, and Marketplace coverage to ensure reimbursement to the agency for the services rendered. This will increase access to cultural connectivity to the members living in the tribal community which will ultimately lead to improved quality of life and better health outcomes.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Bills for Home and Community Based Services provided to the client (Homemaker, transportation, chore).
- Reviews for accuracy billing and coding information
- Ensures all applicable forms are submitted timely and adequately reflect the services rendered
- Follow-up on all pending and denied claims to resolve payment/resubmission
- Follow HIPPA compliance rules for patient/client privacy
- Must have knowledge of North Dakota Medicaid programs/Home and Community Based programs
- Must have experience working with the North Dakota Health Enterprise MMIS Payment System
- Knowledge of eligibility resources and Medicaid application process
- Knowledge of Home and Community Based Services billing codes (preferably)
- Possess good organization and communications skills
- Must be a self-starter (Independent)with excellent time-management skills
- Strong understanding of medical billing processes and insurance claim submissions.
- Experience with resolving billing disputes effectively.
- Familiarity with the THERAP software is highly desirable.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Knowledge of medical terminology is essential for accurate documentation and communication.

Qualifications:
- 2-year associate’s degree in business administration or accounting OR 4-years’ experience working with ND Human Service/Social Service Medicaid system
