Nature of Work:
Will provide effective Drug and Alcohol Treatment Services to Adult Clients
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Will do chemical dependency screenings, assessments, and evaluations
- Will conduct and assist in conducting individual and group counseling sessions to include scheduling, establishing, therapeutic relationships, assessing motivations, interpreting group dynamics, and encouraging growth producing behavior
- Conduct treatment planning to identify problem areas, and define special needs and assist clients in meeting treatment goals and objectives
- Will ensure compliance with 42 CFR (federal confidentiality regulations) and HIPAA
- Will maintain client’s records, track client treatment plans, treatment goals, and treatment progress to ensure client is moving toward goals in effective and efficient pace and adjust plans as needed
- Will work with family members to enhance their understanding of treatment activities of clients as well as goal setting
- Conduct educational workshops on substance abuse and prevention
- Will attend daily/weekly staffing
- Must be able to work with other agencies such as: Tribal Court, Behavioral Health, Probation, and/or Social Services
- Other job duties as assigned.
Qualifications Required:
- Four-year degree in Addiction studies
- Must possess a Licensure in Addiction (LAC)
- Is responsible for obtaining or maintaining proper licensure according to specific state requirements
- Experience working in substance abuse treatment settings
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of principles, practices, and techniques used in the treatment of substance abuse
- Strong understanding of co-occurring mental health disorders
- Knowledge of habits and personality of chemically dependent persons
- Experience in crisis intervention and conflict resolution
- Proficiency in case management and record-keeping software
- Ability to develop and implement effective treatments plans
- Excellent listening and observational skills
