The Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa’s Inclusive Economic Development Projects (IEDP) Department is dedicated to fostering economic growth, job creation, and long-term sustainability within our region. Established to create new revenue streams and opportunities for our community, IEDP focuses on strategic development projects that enhance our local economy while preserving our cultural identity.
Since launching our 10-Year Economic Development Expansion Plan in 2020, we’ve made significant progress in bringing transformative projects to life. From entertainment and hospitality to retail and infrastructure, each initiative is designed to generate employment, support local businesses, and provide new experiences for residents and visitors alike.

10 Year Economic Development Expansion Project
The Economic Development Expansion Project is a transformative initiative designed to create long-term economic sustainability for the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa. Launched in 2020 as part of the 10-Year Economic Development Expansion Plan, this plam is centered around 19 strategic investments in entertainment, retail, infrastructure, and tourism. By developing revenue-generating ventures and creating jobs, the initiative aims to strengthen the local economy and enhance the quality of life for community members.
BiiNi Inc
BiiNi Inc. is a locally owned and operated gift shop that showcases the rich culture, craftsmanship, and entrepreneurial spirit of the Turtle Mountain region. Originally established in 2020 as a pandemic response initiative to distribute hand sanitizer, BiiNi quickly evolved into a thriving retail space. By October 2022, it expanded into a full-fledged store, offering a carefully curated selection of goods that reflect both tradition and modern creativity.
TIER Project - Tribal Infrastructure Expansion and Recovery
The Turtle Mountain Economic Resiliency Plan, also known as the TIER Project, aims to address the economic and social challenges faced by the Turtle Mountain Region. This ambitious project focuses on establishing a centralized Tribal Campus to recover and centralize all displaced tribal programs, services, and facilities. The goal is to improve accessibility and efficiency for the community members.
