DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operates Rear End Garbage collection truck.
  • Maintenances trucks and equipment on a daily or weekly schedule.
  • Transports Garbage (MSW) to licensed landfill near Sawyer ND when regular driver needs relief.
  • Directs incoming vehicles to dumping areas at the Turtle Mountain Transfer Station
  • Facility. Equipment maintenance daily and weekly.
  • Load inspection- ensure incoming loads are not carrying hazardous wastes or other non­acceptable wastes.
  • Ensure loads are separated, white goods, metals and construction wastes.
  • Operating and maintaining transfer station equipment, ensuring all safety procedures are followed, checking oil levels, water levels and lubricating prior to operating equipment.
  • Ensure transfer station and surrounding areas are kept clean.
  • Must drive truck to Sawyer when containers are full and ready to transport
  • May be required to work some weekends and overtime hours.
  • Other related job duties as assign by Director.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have High School Diploma/GED.
  • Must have 2 Years of Experience in driving.
  • Must be able to communicate in a manner of giving directions and explanations of what hazardous material is.
  • Must be able to perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Basic, must be able to figure out tonnage and fill in receipts and invoices.
  • Basic, must be able to learn scale operating system.
  • Must have a valid driver license CDL Class A.
