 Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervises, trains, and evaluates future staff, volunteers and interns.
  • Supervises all Heritage Center operations, including preservation, maintenance, and catalog of artifacts, books, and other items.
  • Knowledge of the Repatriation Act and ability to repatriate historical artifacts.
  • Develops standard operating procedures.
  • Grant writing, managing, and reporting skills.
  • Supervises educational and community programming.
  • Manages marketing of Heritage Center and Heritage Center activities.
  • Ensures maintenance and security of Heritage Center.
  • Keeps records of visitations, hours, programs, and budgets.
  • Plans, directs, coordinates, and manages all Heritage Center activities.
  • Coordinates with Tribal Cultural Preservation Programs.
  • Develop and implement Policy and Procedures.
  • Coordinates with community elders to follow and promote traditional/cultural/ceremonial beliefs and practices according to the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours (nights/weekends).
  • All other duties assigned by the Heritage Board.

Qualifications Required:

  • Preferred Bachelor’s Degree in a Business-related field.
  • All applicants must have minimum of an Associate Degree with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in administrative work.
  • Must pass background check. (upon selection)
  • Must possess a valid N.D Driver’s License proof of insurance.
  • Must be able to pass Drug test upon hire.

 Indian Preference Statement
